Student Notebooks

Each student from age 8 and up should have a three ring binder of their own.

1) Copy the Student Contents page for each student. The arrows are to point to dividers. Staples has a set of dividers with the full page/tab in colors that children like. My kids like to color the arrows to match the divider it points to.

2) Each week you will copy the School Log to put in the first section of the notebook. The school log tracks which level and pages have been completed and the number incorrect. Once you have reviewed the day’s school work, put a red circle around any page that needs repeated the next day. Copy the Student Advancement Checklist to keep in this section as well. The student should mark off books that are completed.

3) Copy the Reading List and place it in the Reading section of the notebook. The student will check off books they have read. This section is also the place to keep all pages they write about the books they finish.

4) I copy the preposition list from the beginning of the Easy Grammar workbooks and place it in the front pocket for quick review. At the end of the notebook we put in some lined paper to be used for spelling practice/testing, penmanship, and writing.

5) As the unit is studied each week, the student should put papers they do under the appropriate unit section.

Optional: Copy a set of Beacons pages for each student, place these in the back of the notebook.

If frames are showing on pages you need to copy, you can print the pages by right clicking the link to them and then choosing “open in a new window.”
